Moringa oleifera in South Africa: A review on its production, growing conditions and consumption as a food source

Moringa oleifera (moringa) trees excel mainly in tropical and sub-tropical regions are known to thrive a wide range of soil types. The recent rise moringa production various agro-ecological zones South Africa could be attributed its multiple benefits, including nutritional medicinal properties. Since introduction as cultivated crop, there has been growing interest from farmers, researchers government on aspects the tree such morphology, chemistry, conditions, production, processing utilisation. We reviewed work done within African context terms conditions cultivation practices. involvement departments moringa-oriented activities consumption food were also reviewed. In addition, gaps outlined utilisation that need addressed, recommendations provided what ensure successful Africa.Significance:
